A Vibrant Exhibition Showcasing the Voices of a New Generation of Artists
Gallery 40 is thrilled to present Kaleidoscope, a bold and dynamic group exhibition featuring emerging and young artists whose work reflects the ever-shifting landscape of contemporary identity, culture, and creativity. The exhibition opens on August 2 and will run through September 7.
Kaleidoscope brings together a diverse collective of artists who are reimagining the world through fresh perspectives, vibrant aesthetics, and courageous storytelling. Just like the optical device from which it takes its name, the exhibition is a celebration of change, color, and complexity—inviting viewers to see the world through a constantly evolving lens.
The exhibition includes artworks spanning painting, digital media, and mixed media. Featured themes range from personal identity and memory to technology, environment, and social change.
The opening reception on August 9, from 5 to 7pm is free and open to the public, featuring refreshments, and an opportunity to meet the artists.

The Pigeon Water Based Acrylic Marker on Canvas 16x20in $150 Pigeons of the world come in many shapes and styles, ranging from their humble wild appearance to fancy formal crests and fantails. The style of fancy pigeons reminded me of historical women from the 20's and their stylish array of headpieces. I decided to depict the subject here with an eloquent flapper style - with pigeon on top to match!
The Hummingbird Water Based Acrylic Marker on Canvas 11x14in $100 50's fashion features a lot of bright, bold colors, pairing fashionable day dresses with brilliant jewelry. When deciding on the bird theming for my pieces, I was inspired to create a portrait of a young woman based on the ruby throated hummingbird, sporting a red crystalline necklace of the same style! Perhaps each on is jealous of the other's style - or simply humbly inspired.
The Flamingoes Water Based Acrylic Marker on Canvas 11x14in $100 The dazzling pinks of flamingoes brings to mind the fun, funky day wear of the 90's. For this piece, I thought it fun to create a party-like atmosphere. Our gorgeous young woman is featured center stage as the star of her own event with a pair of pet flamingoes at her side!
The Budgerigar Water Based Acrylic Marker on Canvas 16x20in $150 The loud groovy colors of the budgerigar, fondly called by many as the "budgie", bring to mind a very 70's style with booming colors and vibrant patterns. For this piece, I wanted to work in the natural vogue of the budgie into a more boho-chic style and really bring our the yellow, green and teal patterning! This woman sports the budgie's color in style, as her pet budgie looks on!
