Queer 4 Queer Lens

It can be hard to find an art space curated for specifically queer artists that allows them to be fully themselves and to represent their identity in whatever way they wish. The exhibition showcases how there is no correct way to be queer, just as it shows that queerness does not always have to be about queer suffering and pain. Queer artists and creators love and find joy,too. Much of queer art in museums does not represent the diversity of the queer community accurately, and while I don’t claim to, I’d like to say that this exhibition contains art by queer people and for queer people, not toned down for cishet appreciation. I love all of the art in this show and greatly appreciate the effort all these artists have put in, and I invite you to do the same. - Alisha Arden (they/them), exhibition curator
