Flying Up the Hudson by Linda T. Hubbard

In 2007, before the Poughkeepsie Railroad Bridge was the Walkway, Linda Hubbard flew three times in an R22 Helicopter from the Bear Mountain Bridge to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge with her camera. She captured the Poughkeepsie area and made time stand still…the Mid-Hudson bridges, the streets of Poughkeepsie, the Culinary Institute and a little north, the Vanderbilt mansions and its gardens in its many changing seasons and life.

Her aerial photographs give us a very different perspective of man and nature; the towns, the mansions, and the bridges amongst the river, the streams and the mountains. Hubbard lived in the Hudson Valley for over 50 years. Her birds eye view photographs of the area she loved capture a sense of its beauty and its history.
