About the event
Join us for a presentation on how some artists got interested in designing clothing as a sideline; maybe to express a sociopolitical philosophy, or just to explore a new genre. For some of them, clothing became what they are noted for today.
Presented by David Roberts.
David Roberts is a graduate of SUNY New Paltz. He moved to Poughkeepsie in 2017 from NYC, where he worked as a theatrical designer. Among the places he worked are the Metropolitan Opera and the Jim Henson Muppet Workshop. He also worked as a designer for an embroidery company. He is currently teaching History of Fashion at FIT in NYC. He also taught at Marist University , SUNY New Paltz, and at Montclair State University in New Jersey. He has lectured for Vassar LLI , at Marist CLS, and at Boardman Road Library.
Free to the public.
